Country and western's 'Working Man' to wow music club
11:27am Friday 3rd February 2012
THE ‘Working Man’ of country and western music will be playing live in Kidderminster.
Keith ‘Middy’ Middleton will be playing tonight at the Wyre Valley Country Music Club, which is held at St George’s Social Club in Radford Avenue.
It will be the club’s second show, following last month’s sell-out performance by Steve Raymond.
Middy said: “I am looking forward to it. It is the first time we have played at the club and my first performance in Kidderminster.
“I play pure country music and I really enjoy it, I hope the audience do to.”
The award-winning singer has been on the country music scene for 20 years and performs traditional country music, from the likes of Waylon Jennings, Gene Watson and Merl Haggard.
Club organiser Tony Hinton said: “Middy has a soft and gentle voice, it’s typical country and western and sounds similar to Matt Monro.
"All across the country and western spectrum he is known as ‘the working man’ – which is the name of one of his best songs.”
Organisers have rearranged the room at the social club so more people can attend the event this month.
Mr Hinton added: “It is our second show of 2012 and we are hoping to get a great deal of support from our friends in the country and western world from all around Wyre Forest.”
